Korean Food USA: Miru 8691

According a recent press release, “These days, it’s rare to see an empty table at Miru 8691.”

Miru 8691 is a Korean-American burger and Japanese fusion restaurant owned by Chef Miru Jung. Opening Miru 8691 was Chef Jung’s dream ever since he immigrated to America ten years ago, but his high hopes started to crumble when his business took a hit from the recession. In trying to find a way to reestablish the business, Jung worked with a marketing firm in based in LA, /excelamktg, to use social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare) to relaunch their restaurant and reach out to new customers by offering special deals to those that join their social network.

Miru 8691 serves the traditional Korean dish Jap Chae: a stirfry of glass noodles and vegetables

Miru 8691 is famous for their burgers like the Kalbi burger, which has filet mignon cubes incorporated into a beef short rib patty, lettuce, mozzarella, tempura onion, pineapple, and a seven spiced aioli. If his burgers aren’t creative enough, Chef Jung also offers a variety of sushi rolls named after famous brands like the “Abercrombie,” which is made of baked seabass, mango, avocado, tobiko, and yuzu miso. With delicious dishes and constant networking, Miru 8691 is doing even better than when they first started.
