Korea Queer Culture Festival 2015 Schedule and the Video of Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of the Korea Queer Culture Festival went off without a hitch (other than being broadcast live on Youtube rather than allowing participants), and can be viewed in its entirety on Youtube.

I've been a little slow on posting stuff lately, so I figured it would be best to post the schedule now to make sure detailed information is available in English for all of us who want to participate this year!

This Saturday, the main "Private Beach" party will take place at Itaewon Club S Cube. VIP tickets can be reserved here (a bit pricey) and tickets at the door are 20,000 won but include one free drink.

Also on Saturday is a special Condom Cafe event at Bar Viva in Jongno from 4 in the afternoon til 8:30 pm.

On Wednesday, June 17th there is a special Buddhist ceremony celebrating the Queer Culture Festival at 7:30 pm at the Korean Buddhist Cultural History Commemoration Hall (한국불교문화역사기녕관). The Jogye order of Buddhism is supporting Korea's Queer Festival! Fucking fantastic. Click here for a map to the hall.

The Korea Queer Film Festival begins on the 18th and runs through the 21st. I'll be sure to post a more detailed schedule as the festival draws nearer.

On Saturday morning, June 20th, at 10:30 AM, there will be an international symposium on queer couples standing against the current laws at the National Assembly. If I see any information on how people can participate, I'll be sure to post it here.

Finally, the Queer Parade will run from 11 AM to 7 PM on Sunday, June 28th in Seoul Plaza. Although queer activists have been denied permission to march in a parade formation, I'm guessing that it is still going to happen. Don't miss out!

The schedule below lists all of the events.
