Hot stars at Busan Film Fest

Guess who we saw at Busan Film Festival 2013? None other than Han Hyo-joo and Jung Woo-sung!

Stargazing isn’t the only attraction at Asia’s top film festival, there are also interview and “Open Talk” events with the actors and directors, not to mention 100s of movies to watch!

Be sure to check the location carefully when buying tickets, as there are different screening locations that you will have to travel to. The most convenient are those near Centum City station.

My favourite screening location is the massive “outdoor” venue at the Busan Cinema Centre / BIFF Theatre, which is usually used for night-time screenings. Although open-air, the venue is sheltered from rain and has incredible atmosphere, with the crowd turning up in the hundreds for local and foreign films alike. But do expect a bigger crowd if the big-name stars are making an appearance. With tickets at just 5,000 won, it’s a bargain!

Second favourite would be the 29m-wide Starium theatre at CGV Centum City. Korea’s Starium theatres are the biggest movie screens in the world, certified in the Guiness World Records and you can read my post on them here.

Busan Film Festival is usually held in early October, when the weather is nice and cool but prone to rain and typhoons. So do prepare for wet weather and also see my post on what else you can do in Busan.
