When it comes to Spring Break, I like to book a room in which I can relax away from busy party vibes.  I also like to book early!  You’ll find that when it comes to my very particularly scheduled vacations, I book five or six months ahead of time to get the cheapest flights, the best rooms, and peace of mind.  I used to travel to Florida all the time as a child.  My father worked in Clearwater and Fort Lauderdale, so I have a ton of great memories of playing in the pool, eating tasty food, and sneaking around spring training with my parents.  Some of my best memories come from my formative years in Florida.  If Miami isn’t quite for you, be sure to check out Boca Raton, Clearwater, and Daytona Beach!

Daytona Beach

Save

At about $69 per night, Mayan Inn Daytona Beach is one of the cheapest hotels in the area, and offers great value with free WiFi, free parking, breakfast, and a pool!  You can prepare easy meals or snacks (nachos, anyone?) easily as each room has a microwave and a mini fridge.  Need that caffeine jolt in the morning?  Rooms also come equipped with a coffee maker, so you don’t even need to leave the room to get your morning started right!

Splurge

While I say “splurge,” with rooms starting at $105 per night it’s hardly a giant leap for The Shores Resort & Spa. This pet-friendly hotel has free WiFi, a pool, and a fitness center for anyone hitting the beach in a teeny bikini!  Bonuses: Kids can occupy themselves at The Shores Kid’s Club and Kid’s Night Out.  Each room also includes an iHome for round-the-clock tunes, and a DVD library for extra entertainment.

Clearwater Beach

I love staying at Sheraton Hotels because they are dependable for cleanliness and the bathrooms offer the “Shine for Sheraton” collection.  The rooms, fitness center, and pool with an ocean view at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort just can’t be beat.  The rooms offer a 37″ flatscreen TV with movies and video games.  There’s high-speed internet access, a coffee maker, and complimentary bottled water.  At $170 per night, it’s worth booking the Sheraton.

When I was a kid, my favourite part of visiting Florida was going to Busch Gardens.  As an adult, I think that feeling remains!  40 minutes away from the theme park you’ll find the Sandpearl Resort Hotel with boardrooms, ballrooms, and event spaces.  This hotel includes all the finishing touches of a fine resort: a Roman tub in your bedroom, plush bathrobes, minibar, coffee maker, fridge, free WiFi, and if you really want an experience, book a suite with a living room, washer, dryer, and full kitchen.  Imagine cooking with a view of the Gulf of Mexico!

Boca Raton

Last, but not least, make sure to enjoy the best of Boca by staying at the Embassy Suites Boca Raton!  I love a good happy hour, and the hotel offers an evening reception with free snacks and drinks.  Free morning breakfast will get you started on a high note, too!  With an outdoor pool, fitness center, and free shuttle within three miles of the hotel, you’re all set here in Boca!

Have you had any fantastic experiences in Florida (you know, beyond Orlando and Miami)?  Has your Spring Break ever gone awry?  Let us know in the comments!
