Description and Desired Qualifications
Design Manager – Technical Delivery – Expatriate – Seoul, Korea The challenge? Providing exceptional engineering and construction services to our government and military clients. Our Design Manager – Technical Delivery role provides you with an opportunity to assist Project Managers with the overall coordination and management duties for delivery of vertical construction projects on the $ 10.5 billion plus USFK Base Relocation. Ideal candidate will possess good communication and interpersonal skills in order to successful interface with clients, stakeholders, PTFT members, and A-E PMs and DMs, have an ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment and who has a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each design manager role.

Our Design Manager – Technical Delivery:

  • Serves as the primary interface with the Republic of Korea (ROK) Architectural-Engineering firms contracted to deliver Detailed Design construction documents.
  • Manage Project Task Force Team (PTFT) members delivering technical reviews of A-E deliverables.
  • Support Project Managers by directly interfacing with Clients, stakeholders, and A-Es to resolve issues of a technical nature on all design related tasks (programming, planning, criteria packages, design, and design change management).
  • Ensure design quality management standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Work with DM department management to ensure appropriate staffing of review tasks, and ensure deliverable review cycle schedules are met.
  • This position requires approximately a 2-year commitment to live and work in Seoul (assignment to go through Program completion date).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or closely construction-related technical degree.
  • Professional License or Registration.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience with design and construction programs concentrating on design.
  • Experience with DoD design criteria and processes and performing work within DoD programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of project drawings, specifications submittals, and as-built records.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications (MS Office Suite) and computer usage as a work tool.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers A-E-C CAD Standards.
  • Experience managing delivery of design of vertical construction projects.
