Recently, popular news website Korea Exposé, which brands itself as “showing Korea as it really is,” published two pieces related to South Korean feminism & “Megalia,” the controversial online community that has divided Korean netizens as to what are appropriate ways for activists to engage in gender equality discussions. Korea FM host Chance Dorland spoke with NY Times writer,  professor & Korea Exposé managing editor Se-Woong Koo about his recent article titled “In Defense of Feminism” as well as RealKoreans.com founder “Emily Singh,” a Korean writer who detailed the rise and fall of the Megalia online community but does not use her real name due to fear of backlash.
