Coleslaw probably tastes better when you give it some time and don’t eat it immediately after making, but I can never wait. Here’s a recipe for a coleslaw that makes a great side dish.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 sliced red pepper
  • ½ cup sliced green onions
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 3 tablespoons snipped fresh dill, 1 tablespoon dill weed, or 1 tablespoon dried dill

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cabbage, red pepper, green onions, basil, and dill.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk dressing ingredients until blended. Drizzle over cabbage mixture; toss to coat.
  3. Refrigerate until serving.
