CHRISTMAS TREATS Part I

Hello Readers,

It's about 6:11 in the morning here. I've been up since 2:30am after finally getting to bed at around 11pm. I slept for about 3 hours before I woke up and felt that sleep had already left me for the day.

Some of you know already, but as for the rest of you who don't I have an announcement:

I AM BACK IN AMERICA

It was a difficult decision to make, but it was the best decision and I find myself feeling more positive about my future here back in the USA. I have more opportunities to grow and pursue greater things especially in this next year in regards to continuing my education. If I would have remained in Korea my options would have remained few and the windows of opportunity to pursue my dreams small.

I realized that I have outgrown biding my time in life, waiting for something to happen. Now that I'm back in America I can begin shaping my future more.

Well, the transition has been a little shaky, but I'm feeling very good now. Except for the jet lag everything is coming back together for me here. It feels nice. More importantly, it feels right.

Well,

IT'S THE CHRISTMAS SEASON!

What does that mean? YUMMY FOOD!

That's right. My family and I started the Christmas food making process yesterday with a traditional Christmas treat.

PUPPY CHOW!

1 stick of butter or margarine.
16 oz. of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. of peanut butter (creamy, but chunky works too if you like peanuts!)

Get a box of rice chex and separate the box into two large bowls.

Get a large bag ready. Ziplock is preferable, but we didn't have a big enough ziplock back so we used.... a grocery bag. Yes, it's true. Don't worry it was new and unused bag.

Melt the butter first, then combine chocolate chips and peanut butter into the sauce pan and stir until melted into a liquid. It shouldn't be thick (like icing). If it is you'll have a hard time coating the rice chex completely. Pay attention to the pot, otherwise you'll scorch the chocolate on the bottom!

Once the mixture is melted well, pour half into each of the large bowls of rice chex.

Mix well.

Remember: BE GENTLE! You don't want to crush the chex!

Take your chocolaty concoction and dump it into your large bag.

Add 1 1/4 c. powdered sugar in.

Aaaand...

SHAKE

SHAKE

SHAKE

SHAKE

SHAKE!

Once you've shaken it all up, spread it out on some wax paper.

This is a great opportunity to get your hands messy. Pilfer through the white bits and make sure that all of your chex mix is covered well in the powdered sugar.

Find yourself a lovely bowl or a nice (big) Christmas tin and

VOILA!

A yummy Christmas treat to share!

Enjoy your Holiday treats! We'll be making more yummy dishes so stand by!

Until next post,

~A.
