Bar Review: Prince Izakaya (프린스)

Located at the foot of Hooker Hill, I've been wanting to go to Prince for ages but never was able to make time (or get a table). I finally made it on Friday with a group of friends and had a gay old time.

I'm not sure if Prince calls itself a gay bar, but the customers were probably around 90% gay (with the 10% straight being ladies). Although it is an izakaya, they also serve Korean dishes and soju. The price is definitely right; we got our drink on with a clam soup (조개탕) for only 7000 won a person. While some of their 안주 is a bit more expensive, it was easy to have a cheap night (or at least a cheap start of the night).
Interior of Prince
The best part of Prince is that most of the customers are handsome young gay men. After some soju confidence, I approached a table and talked to some guys. The customers seemed approachable. Here's TKQ's method: pick out the guy you like, make sure he is sitting down with his pants a bit loose, and snap his boxer briefs. Great way to start a conversation. The staff, on the other hand, weren't the friendliest even though they were attentive.

I would definitely recommend this bar. It can be hard to get a seat, so get their early. Ladies are welcome as well.

To get to Prince, go out of exit 3 of Itaewon station (line 6) and walk straight til your first major right (after UN Club and Mr. Kebab). Walk up this street; the first street on the left will be 'Hooker Hill' and you will see Prince on your right (next to a transgender club).
