Join Shakespeare in Busan for our second annual show - Shakespeare's romantic pastoral comedy "As You Like It" at the scenic open-air ampitheater on Dalmaji Hill. There's plenty to laugh at and to think about in this show, which combines bawdy humor, cross-dressing and an exciting wrestling match with meditations on love, forgiveness and the human condition in one of Shakespeare's most famous speeches - "All the world's a stage..." Romance is also in the air, with not one or two, but four very different couples!

The international cast is once again a combination of veteran performers and promising new talent, many of whom you'll recognize from other shows including "BSNL", "The Vagina Monologues" and last year's "Midsummer's Night Dream."

Bring a picnic mat or chair to sit on and some food and relax and enjoy an afternoon in the park. The performance is free!

Venue directions are as follows:
Taxi Directions to Dalmaji Amphitheater: From Haeundae, Jung-dong, or Jangsan subway station, ask your taxi driver for Dalmaji Alexander Restaurant. The entrance to the amphitheater is across the street from the restaurant. Walk through the trees down the wooden walkway to the amphitheater. If the taxi driver does not know Alexander Restaurant, ask for Haewoljeong (the moon-viewing pavilion). The amphitheater is a 5-10 minute walk further.

Or walking from Haeundae Beach - Walk all the way to the end of the beach past Paradise and Pale de CZ. take a left at the end of the beach up the hill. At the top of the hill you'll come to a large intersection. Take a right and keep walk...ing up the hill on a tree-lined walkway. Walk for about 20-25 minutes. You'll eventually come to the coffee shop area of Dalmaji, the ampitheater is just a few blocks further across the street from the Alexander Restaurant and down through the trees.

May 28 Show

The show will start promptly at 5:15. Please arrive earlier for better seating.

ATEK WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR THE WOMEN'S SHELTER AT THIS SHOWING! Monetary donations cannot be accepted at the ampitheater. See below for the shelter's donation needs:

The Saegil Women's Shelter in Busan needs our help! The donations that the shelter needs include the following: Canned foods, drinks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, new clothes, English teaching materials, toys, tissues, toilet paper, shampoo, soap, sanitary supplies, medicine, laundry detergent, utensils, etc.

They are badly in need of said supplies due to the recent Korean law that restricts welfare for single mothers and children, so your help is greatly appreciated!

Update:
Hello everyone! We've been watching the weather carefully and if current weather holds the show for tomorrow is all set to go on! We'll perform as long as it's not pouring down rain outside, so use your judgment!

That said, the ground may be wet, so please bring blankets, mats or lawn chairs with you to the show! Foil mats are easily purchased and you can take them to the beach all summer!

The show will start at 5:15 and the ampitheater will be open all day, but if you don't want any "spoilers" try not to arrive more than an hour before show time. I do recommend arriving early, however, for best seating.
