T-HOPE ULSAN ROCK & ROW DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

After the phenomenal success of the first ever T-HOPE Whale Boat Race in April 2012, T-HOPE will this year hold THE T-HOPE ULSAN ROCK & ROW DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL, with funds raised at the event going towards building the T-HOPE Women’s Shelter in Ulsan.

The T-HOPE Ulsan Rock & Row Dragon Boat Race, will be held over two days, May 17th to 18th.

The T-HOPE Ulsan Rock & Row Dragon Boat Race will accept one hundred teams to participate in the event, under three categories: Men, Women and Mixed Teams.

Teams participating in the races can guarantee a minimum of three races, leading to 5 races for those teams making it to the final round. Each team will consist of twenty members: 18 rowers, 1 drummer and 1 steersperson. Participants may register for a maximum of two categories.

The registration fee for each team will be 500,000 won (25,000 won per person) to be paid in full to confirm your team's participation in the races.

Besides winning a Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal, all participants will receive a medal.

Please check our website for more information on events happening, entertainment and team competition/activities www.thope.edublogs.org

The races are open to all foreigners /Koreans including those without prior rowing experience. Boats for practices will be available at the Taewha River at designated times and Boats will be fully equipped with a drum, paddles and life jackets.

Funds raised at the event through registration fees, food and beverages, special merchandise and sponsors will be put towards T-HOPE’s 2013 Project of building a Women’s Shelter in the Ulsan area. This is a new project being undertaken by T-HOPE, who hopefully will work alongside the Nambu Police Department to provide protection and temporary accommodation to any vulnerable women and children.
