"Culture Night" Festival

 

From May 29th (Fri) to the 30th (Sat), come check out “Culture Night” in the Jeong-dong area. Culture Night will take place from 6PM to 10PM (the 30th will start from 2 PM). You will be able to explore places such as Deoksugung Palace, the Seoul Anglican Cathedral, the Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul Museum of History, and many more places much later than you normally could due to the extended hours for these two special days. Usually never open to the public, the residence of the US Ambassador will even be partially open for viewing.

 

▶Historical Program: Explore Jung-gu’s History through a variety of activities

 - Make “Jojokdeung” Lanterns (1,000won; participants will receive free admission to Deoksugung palace)

 - Make glow-in-the-dark herbal incense bags

 - Fortune telling

 - Make glow-in-the-dark bracelets

 - Experience being a blacksmith

 - Make weapons from the Joseon dynasty

 - Fun Weights/Measuring experience

 - Letterpress typesetting experience

 - Make glow-in-the-dark business cards

 - Experience the streets of the Joseon dynasty

 - Photobooth: You will have the chance to try on several different kinds of traditional Korean clothes (hanbok) and take photos.

 - Stamp Tour: If you collect stamps from at least 5 different cultural facilities that you’ve visited, you will be able to receive a certificate with your name inscribed on it.

 - For Foreigners: Several Chinese, English, and Japanese speaking people will be available to assist you and guide you. There will also be pamphlets and brochures in Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese.
