Combining heavy metal with the hardcore hip hop of the ‘90s gave birth to Nu Metal, which in turn saw the rise of Limp Bizkit, the undisputed rap rock powerhouse who will be holding their first Headline show in 5 years on Wednesday, November 12th at the Olympic Park, Olympic Hall.
Not only has Limp Bizkit sold more than 35 million albums, they had been nominated for three Grammy Awards, won 2 MTV Music Video Awards, 1 American Music Award, and various other awards and accolades, embracing the title of being the leaders of Nu Metal. Moreover, they are one of the most popular rock bands of today having more than 5 million followers on various SNS sources.

The rap-metal outfit Limp Bizkit was formed in Florida in 1994 by vocalist Fred Durst and his friend, bassist Sam Rivers. Rivers' cousin John Otto soon joined on drums, and guitarist Wes Borland completed the original foursome (later supplemented by DJ Lethal). After Korn played the Jacksonville area in 1995, bassist Fieldy got several tattoos from Durst (a tattoo artist) and the two became friends. The next time Korn were in the area, they picked up Limp Bizkit's demo tape and were so impressed that they passed it on to their producer, Ross Robinson. Thanks mostly to word-of-mouth publicity, the band was chosen to tour with House of Pain and the Deftones.

Their debut album [Three Dollar Bill Y'All] featuring Faith No More, who is known for remaking George Michael’s song, has sold more than 1.5 million copies, and their much-anticipated second album [Significant Other] featuring the song "Nookie”, debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, selling 800,000 copies in the first week, ultimately selling over 16 million copies worldwide. In 2000, their third studio album, [Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water] continued the band's success by selling approximately 1.5 million copies in its first week, making it the fastest-selling rock album of all time beating Pearl Jam’s record of selling 950,000 copies during their first week. Particularly, the song “Rollin”’ was used by the pro wrestler, Undertaker of WWF, as his intro song and the song “Take A Look Around” was featured as the theme song of the movie, Mission Impossible 2, clearly marking their presence worldwide.

Wes Borland, who had left the band, returned in 2009, and the group had started formulating with the original members once again. In 2011, Limp Bizkit had released their 6th album [Gold Cobra] and was acclaimed to have their original colors back. In 2013, the band had collaborated with the rapper, Lil Wayne, and released a single “Ready To Go”, receiving much praise and expectations. In 2014, they are set to release their 7th album [Stampede of the Disco Elephants] causing much anticipation all throughout.

“Each albums are a recording of our lives. Just like how a tattoo serves as a permanent reminder of a particular moment in life, the albums that we have released is my story and life. It is impossible to pick and choose my favorite, or the least favorite, of my albums.”

With the power to unite the audience as one, Limp Bizkit is bound to give one spectacular and explosive show, lifting everyone off their hands and feet. The biggest rock bands, the undisputed rap rock icons, it will be wise to prepare for their first Headline show in 5 years now,
