In 2004, as Cheongju City’s Woojin Bus Company faced the threat of bankruptcy, its employees banded together to take control of the company, turning it into a worker-run, worker-managed enterprise. As labor conditions worsen in Korea, their story stands out as an important example of alternative ways to conceive and carry out labor that empowers workers. Join the ISC for our second “Open Lecture event” in May as we meet with them and listen to their story. All aspects of the event will be translated from Korean to English, so both Korean and English speakers are welcome to attend!

시내버스 회사 우진교통은 2004년 부도 위기를 맞아 직원들이 회사를 인수해 노동자가 주인인 기업이 되었습니다. 노사관계 악화로 문제가 많아지고 있는 한국의 노동 현실에서 하나의 대안으로 알려진 우진교통의 이야기를 직접 듣고자 강연을 준비했습니다.
