This talk is based on Matthew’s video originally presented at TEDxYouth@BIFS about Self-Efficiacy and how students can affect it in their own lives. It is related to goal-setting/ positive thinking for students and teachers.He thought that it might be something worth sharing with his fellow teachers. “I am an American who has been living in Korea for over 5 years. I am married to a Korean woman and have 2 sons. I recently completed my MEd in TESOL from Framingham State University. I am self employed as a teacher these days, teaching private lessons to students of various ages, from as young as 6 years old to doctors at a hospital and other adults.” 

2)CPD through Webinars / Online Seminars- David Harbinson

Finding opportunities for professional development can be challenging, especially for teachers living outside major cities or with busy schedules. Over the last few years, there has been a huge increase in the number of ELT webinars (web seminars) that are available. In addition, many seminars and conferences are now being broadcast live online by organizations, such as IATEFL and the British Council. In this talk, we will look at what is available online, how to attend an online event, and some tips for anyone who is new to webinars.

Bio

David Harbinson has been an English language teacher in Daegu since 2007. He is currently a freelance teacher working mainly for a private language academy catering to adults in Daegu. He holds the Trinity CertTESOL, an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL, and is working towards completing the Delta. A lot of his spare time is spent on twitter (@DavidHarbinson) and attending ELT webinars. He blogs occasionally about ELT at davidharbinson.com.
