코믹월드는 “아마추어 만화 종합 행사”입니다.

아마추어 만화가들이 자신의 작품을 소개하고 서로 교류할 뿐 아니라
만화인들간의 커뮤니케이션을 공유하는 장을 만드는 것을 목표로 합니다.

동아리 판매전을 통해 아마추어 만화가들이 직접 창작한 창작품을 전시 및 판매할 수 있고,
만화캐릭터로 분장하는 코스프레와 만화주제가를 부르는 만화노래자랑 이벤트를 비롯하여,
프로 만화가나 성우를 만날 수 있는 특별 이벤트 등, 만화와 관련된 다양한 이벤트가 진행됩니다.

이 행사를 통해 자신이 좋아하는 것을 스스로 창작할 수 있는 분위기를 조성할 뿐 아니라, 
취미활동을 공유하고 사회성을 향상시킴으로써 건전한 청소년 문화에 이바지하고자 합니다.

 It’s not every day you see a girl with pink hair, rabbit ears and a pair of random foam dice dangling from the sides of her head wandering around outside in the rain with an acoustic guitar she never intends to play. It’s also not every day you see a quiet, unassuming woman selling Korean-language SpongeBob slash fiction.

But once every two months in Busan, you can see oddities such as these – and so much more.

Busan Comic World is a bi-monthly comic convention celebrating all things manhwa, which refers to Korean comics and anime. Once every couple of months, young Koreans flock to BEXCO to bask in the glory of comics and cosplay.

Along with the fans, artists gather to advertise their works and sell souvenir accessories, art supplies, and illustration instruction books. Busan Comic World also features singing competitions, in which fans sing the theme songs from their favorite shows – sometimes in the high-pitched cartoon voices of the original characters.
