With a new concept of “Love & Harmony”, the 8^th Busan International Performing Arts Festival will be held from May 1 through May 10 in Busan.

 

L’homme de l’Atlantique from France and Fragments du Désir from Brazil have been selected as the opening and closing performances respectively. The two performances will feature in different eyes of the same subject.

 

L'homme de I'Atlantique, directed by Olivier Dubois, is about musician Frank Sinatra’s music and loves.

 

Frank Sinatra’s music, including My Way and Fly to the Moon, and about 130 elegant French costumes from the mid-20th century will please the audience’s eyes and ears.

 

Fragments du Désir, first performed at the Festival d'Avignon Off 2010, unfolds with an unpredictable storyline and stage equipments. Human beings’ desired fragments fully fill the emptiness of life, and then lead to happiness.

 

The performance is composed only of the images and movements of four performers. ‘Desire fragments’ are expressed through performers’ sensual and delicate movements.

 

About 20 performances from seven countries have been invited to be presented at the festival. A variety of events including BIPAF MAIN (performances under the f estival theme), BIPAF OPEN (other outstanding performances), 10 minute plays, and a workshop are scheduled to be held.
