where to go on Busan on a saturday night

I just moved to Busan.

Looking to go wild this saturday. I am not the laid back kind of guy but more the go out and drink all night and go nuts a bit.

suggestions? I read about a place called vinyl underground, but can not find anything else.

anything around hyundai beach, or near vinyl?   I would like to stick to that area.

Thanks

Drink all night? Only one place to go.. kyoungsung. You'll hav no problem watching the sun come up. Then you can move to gwangan beach for the rest of the sunday.

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

Vinyl Underground is in the Kyungsungdae neighborhood.  Sounds like that's the place that would suit you best.  Other suitable places (on the same street as Vinyl) for wasted wildmen:  Family Mart, Blue Monkey, and Eva's.

Places not to go: HQ and Ol'55.  They're both great bars, but a combination of new, wasted, and wild would not go over well.

I'm sure he's wearing cargo shorts and a polo shirt with a stripe across it and a backwards baseball cap right now.

And some advice, Do Not Go To Gwangali Beach.  Stick with your plan.  You're all about KSU and Haeundae.

Do No Go to Gwangali Beached bars.

Clubbing or just at a bar? If clubs are your thing I would say Haeundae. Elune or Maktum are good and there are plenty of bars to start at like Sharkys, Wolfhound, Billy Jeans, Fuzzy navel, Geckos right off of the beach, Rock and Roll Bar... Plus of course you have the beach right there. You can drink on the beaches here no problem. Kyungsung is good to for the reasons mentioned above. I prefer Haeundae but both are good for partying. Someone mentioned Gwangali as not being good but I would disagree. You are across from the beach and there are many people there as well. Thursday Party, Fuzzy, Beached Bar... Keep in mind it is  going to be a beautiful weekend. Might make being near the beach the better option this saturday. Have fun!

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

Wow....thanks for all of the responses.

Regarding the person that said does somebody really write that about themselves. Yes. I do. I try to stay out as long as I can on both Friday and saturday night. I get enough day time Monday through friday as I don't work until 5pm.

Looking for a bar or pub, not really into the whole Club thing anymore.

The Wolfhound sounds decent, as does vinyl. Looking at the map they are not too close to eachother.

Are there lots of pubs and places around The Wolfhound? Same goes for Vinyl Underground.

What time is last call usually at the good places?  I don't drink by myself. So no need to answer, this is Korea. you can drink 24 hours a day.

Thanks

Allen

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

Disagree with the comment about HQ and OL'55. I guess they are your quintessential expat bars and both are run by expats, one owned. There is also the Dugout bar which is a great place to sit down at the bar and chin wag with the owners and staff. If Vinyl has a big band on or famous DJ it's the place to go, but I find it more predominately Korean these days. If you do want to get 'wasted and wild' go to Kino, although it can be a bit quieter these days compared to it's hayday a year or so. I think HQ, Eva's and Blue Monkey have taken away a lot of it's business. But, when it's good it's an intersting place!

Finally if you just want to chill out head to Fully Booked, it's a secondhand bookshop, bar and board game cafe. Again foreigner owned and run.

If you need directions to any of these places just find a bunch of drunk looking foreigners outside Family Mart and they will point you in the right direction, or invite you to sit down and drink soju!

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

For pretentious dicks, substitute professional teachers.

No mention of where to get books or study aids, just where to drink all night.

Wonder why foreigners get a bad press!

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

Pardon my French, stlavery, but you're an ultra-maroon.  Buddy asked where to go on a SATURDAY NIGHT.

I presume you spend your every single weekend stimulating the intellect with recently downloaded episodes of Jersey Shore.

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

"No mention of where to get books or study aids, just where to drink all night.

Wonder why foreigners get a bad press!" Right... because thats not exactly what all the locals are doing. Korea... Disney land for alcoholics.

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

In almost any city in the world, certainly every city that members of the ex-pat English teaching community call home, there are hundreds of bars packed with people of all ages and races having a few drinks (more often more than a few) and unwinding after a hard week at work.  This is normal.  This is what people do. I can't understand why certain people on this forum express such moral outrage that people want to do this in Korea.

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

Dog, I dont get it either. The guy is new in town and wanted to party with other foreigners so he asked where he should go. What is the problem? This is how we treat newbies nowadays-mock the guy like wanting to meet people and have fun is bad?  Pretty sad display of hospitality there my fellow expats. And all this guy did was show class and say thank you. Well done!

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

Ah yes, more of that "fraternity after the fraternity" mentality. Just what Korea needs from the expat community. (DURP...why do foreigners get bad press?) Have at, bro!

Re: where to go on Busan on a saturday night

In fairness the man asked about a night out so thats what he was given advice on. If someone was to start a thread about where to get teaching supplies or improving teaching techniques then the comments would be different. Of course many schools and hogwans already provide supplies and like teaching to be done in a certain pre-approved manner.
