Now would seem an appropriate time to capitalize on the success/super-stardom of Korean leading man of the hour, Hyun Bin (come on ladies, Won Bin was JUST starting to get really awesome in his popularity!).  So much so that an otherwise obscure, internationally produced independent feature has now been thrust into the spotlight, being marketed as a straightforward, unassuming romance film.

Those who caught a screening in October of last year at the Pusan International Film Festival may agree that the movie is anything but your typical chick-flick.  In fact, it is actually an unfortunate victim of poor plotting and a pedestrian scripting of dialogue.  My humble opinion, of course.

So, given that Secret Garden has presented the producers with the opportunity to make a big buck off of Hyun Bin's success (despite rumors of him declining a salary for his role), I figured I'd offer people a chance to revisit the review I did for the Busan Haps magazine back when I saw the film in October.

No doubt 90% of the foreign men living in Busan have Korean girlfriends who will want to drag them to this film (considering that more than half of it is spoken in English).  I hope you can get a bit more out of this one than I did.  It's a film which boasts a ton of potential, and some very slick production design...but in the end it left me cold.  Enjoy the review.
