Best kebabs in Busan - Seomyeon Big Boy! Good to hear. Is he using mattsid

Good to hear. Is he using that yummy yogurt sauce and decent veggies (lettuce, onion, tomato, cabbage etc. ) or just that nasty sweetish tomato based sauce with just cabbage that the majority of the kebab places do in this town?

need computer guy who can help fix my laptop. You should take it down to mattsid

You should take it down to Gaya computer town near Gaegeum. There are dozens of shops there that will be able to check it out. Computer talk is the same the world over so communicating the basic problem shouldn't be a problem. Repalcement cost shouldn't set you back an arm and  a leg either.

Directions. Take Line 2 to Dong Eui University station. Forget the exit but you want to...

non-payment of salaries Still not a blacklist manager

This post has been removed by Koreabridge.

While we are experimenting with comments on job ads, we still do not plan to provide a blacklist kind of space.

need computer guy who can help fix my laptop. Be Careful... JayLo

Does your computer actually turn on and working with the HDD (hard drive) clicking? Or not start at all (stuck at startup or dump to DOS)?

Clicking sound on HDD as your internet research is suggesting is failed HDD (mechanical), not fixable within most people's budget. I'd copy whatever information thats on the computer (documents, pictures...

Do you think comments should be allowed on classified ads? I agree... SolidChamp

I think that the classified ads that have been posted as of late are severly lacking in common sense.  People are asking FAR too much for their stuff and it's really quite sad to see expats trying to nickel and dime people from their own community.  Anyone asking ridiculous prices deserves to be put in their place, and people who are unknowledgable in such things who are just looking...

Do you think comments should be allowed on classified ads? Comments on classified dcross

Comments on classifieds serve a good purpose and should stick around.  Answering questions about items publicly so that you dont get calls with the same question is a big one, but getting feedback is cool too.

Hairdresser that knows western hair You want to go check out a mattsid

You want to go check out a place called The Hair in Namcheon Dong. The guy there trained at Vidal Sassoon in London, speaks great English and knows western hair. Hence a pretty large foreign clientelle.

To get there get the subway to Namcheon station on line 2. Exit 3 and take your first left. Walk down to the bottom of this street and take a right at the bottom the shop is on your...

Finding postcards? postcards in Nampo-dong everlong

You can find postcards at the Busan tower in Yongdusan park which is located in Nampo-dong. Also, you can just stroll around in the underground mall in Nampo and find tons of souvenir shops that sell them. Finally, you can find more souvenirs (including postcards) at Gukje market which is also in Nampo-dong. Basically, Nampo-dong is a good place to find souvenirs. Hope this helps!

newbie scared to approach employeers... 1. You can be sure that the Cliff_Dangers

1. You can be sure that the BS will continue... welcome to Korea.

2. What do you mean by "playing with my hours"? If the hours they are giving you do not exceed      what your contract states then there isn't a problem. If they do exceed the contract hours then you should be paid OT. If they fall below your contract hours, you should still be paid...

dry cleaners? They are pretty much mattsid

They are pretty much everywhere, especially in older neighbourhoods. You want to look out for a sign saying 세탁 , or any shop with bunches of clothes in plastic bags outside.

They are super cheap as well compared to back home.

Criminal background check It depends.. celiac_chick

If you're transferring from one job to another and you're not leaving the country, you won't need another background check.  If you leave Korea for more than 30 days, however, you'll need a new background check that has been completed within the past 6 months.

Brita Water Filters in Busan...??? Another possibility celiac_chick

When I lived in Seoul, I used to buy them at a drugstore near my apartment.  They have totally random things in Korean drugstores, so if you can't find them at Home Plus, check out the drugstores near you.

Brita Water Filters in Busan...??? homeplus had them a month ago elmobuzz

have you tried the homeplus in oncenjang (or however it is spelled)?  they are in kind of a weird spot.  maybe the second aisle from the far right as you walk into the store.  in the middle of that aisle on the right side (facing the back of the store-you should see the booze section from that vantage point) at about eye level you should see them.  they sell the pitchers...

Canon camera store in Seomyeon? Yes, there is one in tonyjkitchen

Yes, there is one in Seomyeon.  It's kind of across the street from Starbucks/Coffee Bean, near Lotte Department Store.  I'm not sure what exit, but if you are standing in front of those coffee shops, you can see it.

Is Kim n Joe reputable? Awesomeness colinwatt99

Kim'n'Joe are awesome! Always available to help and Ginger helped me loads finding my apartment, as well as giving me full answers to any small queries or niggles I had before AND after signing the contract.

Is Kim n Joe reputable? Mosdef. They were my first Cliff_Dangers

Mosdef. They were my first recruiters some 7 years ago. They did things for me that no other recruiter I've come to know would ever do. I haven't worked with them in a few years but from my experience I would say not to worry.

I Am a Fat Expat. Hear Me Chew.  I hadn't noticed there were barbie

I hadn't noticed there were comments here before. Slow. What a delightful 3am find!

This particular post, while not intended to be deep or really terribly good at all, was somehow comically misunderstood. Literal interpretation? I'll ignore the comment that came from somebody who clearly didn't read the post  and focus on the understandably misdirected one (sinfonian).
