MANGYONGBONG arrival launched North Korea – Russia ferry line. North Korean passenger/cargo ship MANGYONGBONG arrived at Vladivostok Port, Russian Far East, on May 18, at 0100 Moscow time vessel was berthed at Passenger Terminal. Vessel’s schedule includes 4 monthly trips from North Korean ports Rajin and Kumgangsan to Vladivostok.

This new shipping line draws strong international criticism well before it was launched. Passenger cargo ship MANGYONGBONG, IMO 7111406, GT 3317, built 1971, flagNorth Korea, operator Investstroytrest:

According to MANGYONGBONG description given by Investstroytrest, the ship has 40 cabins with max capacity 200 passengers; cargo capacity is some 1,500 tons of general cargoes plus 24 TEU. Schedule and services description here: - it was apparently (for native Russian-speaking) written by a Korean, with grammar and syntax errors.
