Vlog Entry #7: Busan International Fireworks Festival

Busan, You’re A Firework

busan ffI don’t consider myself a pyromaniac, but I will say I do love me some fireworks. The way they sparkle and shine against the dark night sky. The elongated screech they produce as they’re released into the air, and the extra half second it takes for that final BANG to reach the ears. And there’s something about the collective experience of standing in a crowd with your neck craned high, saying “Woahhhhh!” along with everyone else.

Traveling Seoul LGBT Film Festival Back in Seoul

Argh! I didn't have time to write about queer happenings this weekend, which means I forgot to write about the fact that the Seoul LGBT film festival is back in town. Such a bad blogger... However, you can still make it to the second day. KU Cinema will be screening five films on Sunday, November 9th.

Here is a quick line up of the movies:

Makgeolli Day 2014 & Insadong Festival

This time of year is a busy one for the makgeolli and traditional liquor industry, with a number of festivals and events being held all over the country.   The last Thursday of every October is also Makgeolli Day!  This is a day dedicated to celebrating not just the drink itself, but all the hardworking brewers, industry professionals, and the fabulous fans of drinking our favorite brew.

Vlog Entry #6: Lantern Festival – Jinju, South Korea

During the first weekend of October I went to the Lantern Festival in Jinju! To read more about the festival, view the related post here!

Itaewon Festival

Every day is a festival in Seoul. There are festivals for a particular flower when it blooms, festivals for the seasons, for foreigners, and many many more! Festivals are also celebrated to introduce the people to a particular area / museum / monument that has been recently open to public. Pretty good tactics!
