Boats N’ Bitches: Koh Lipe Pixelated

This is Koh Lipe

A tiny Thai island adrift in the Andaman sea, Koh Lipe is licentiously beautiful. Any muppet with a Nikon – such as I - can take a fabulous shot of the tropical island. Honestly, it’s a piece of piss! Switch on your camera, point in any direction, and shoot. The envy of your friends is assured.

How the Treatment of Dogs in Korea Should Shake our Conscience on Eating Meat: My Story

First an update on Noah the dog (original post here), after my concerns about how my in-laws were taking care of him I was then slightly disappointed to learn that they also couldn't keep him.  Why oh why they couldn't have realised this before they got him, lord only knows, it could have saved them, me, and more importantly the dog a lot of heartache.  For a variety of reasons my in-laws had to give him up.

Waiting For A Second Chance

Located just southwest of Seoul, Asan Animal Shelter is a no-kill facility that provides refuge for stray, abandoned and abused dogs and cats.

Owned by Mr. Park, the shelter is assisted by volunteers who work to rehabilitate animals and find them homes.

New Year Update

Our first meeting
Because of doing the Japan blogs I've not had chance to say much else about what's happening at the moment.

We are in the throws of Winter Camp here, which means working 9-1:30 with lots of different classes, teaching lots of different things which is proving to be lots more interesting than regular school. I think the hours tip me into prefering Camp too.

Cafe Pawz 카페 포우즈 ♥ Gangnam Dog Cafe

So now after having visited Korean Cat Cafes on several occasions, I realized I was forgetting all about another popular pet cafe style here in Seoul~  Dog Cafes!!  Yes, that is right ♥ Just like with Cat Cafes, you can visit Dog Cafes here in Korea and play with puppies to your hearts content.

Antigua: A tree-house away from home

We took the overnight bus from Flores to Antigua via Guatemala City. We shared the double-decker luxury transport with locals and a troupe of God-fearing Christians. Although the two are normally synonymous in Latin America this particular religious group were fresh out of the United States ‘to make a difference’, one of them had said.
They were instantly recognisable as they all wore the same outfit; bleached pure white shirts, sinfully black ties and shiny laminate name-tags that clasped to their top pockets bearing their name and ‘Jesus Cristo’ in large bold italics.

I mention them because the ten hours south to the capital consisted of a chorus of incessant babbling with Bible anecdotes as a theme.

Things I Like Thursday – Cat & Dog Love

I have already doted plenty on my own pets, but I feel I still have room for some cat & dog love in the form of pictures. Enjoy this gallery I received from a friend.

The city government of Harbin China has passed legislation to ban tall dogs. They have even published a list of dog breeds that have now become illegal.

Shindogs Kennel

We are dog lovers who have spent years building our home pack (currently seven dogs), and our Sanctuary (currently about 50 dogs, but over 300 dogs have been part of BAPS).  In all this time we have learned about socializing and caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, so the way we're running our kennel comes from all of those experiences, plus research into industry standards, advice from our vet, and tips from other friends that are familiar with kenneling in the west.
