Busan’s Dongnae Computer Market

Busan has several electronics and computer markets, but I think that the one in Dongnae is the best! It’s huge, fairly clean and tidy, and has everything you could possibly want. The Korean name for the building is 부산 컴푸터 상가. Busan Computer Wholesale Market! The website for the market is http://www.boocom.co.kr/!

Curious what the place looks like on the inside or on the outside? Check out the video we made!

Booting

There are times when I wish I could get a new computer, but I worry what I’d do with all that lost time. Now, I sit and I wait. I tap at my phone, which sometimes feels just as slow. There is a whine and and grind, and a flicker inside behind all the plastic tells me that something is eventually going to happen.

Masters in Computer Science student wants Internship/Job in Seoul

Hi,

I'm currently searching for a position that I could possibly get before travelling to Seoul.  I would like to work in an internship or Graduate position with a company that does Web/Mobile Development or I'm willing to do other positions that are related to modules/subjects I've studied at university.

I would like to travel to Seoul in Feb, 2014.  I'm currently at the end of my Masters in Computer Science course.  I don't have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. The course I am doing is a Skills Conversion course.  Nonetheless, this hasn't stopped me from doing well in some topics.

If anybody can contact me in regards to any positions or provide with any online resources such as websites that can search for these fields, I'd be extremely grateful.

Here is my LinkedIn account:

My Computer Crashed - Help Please!

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone had any idea where I could go to get my laptop fixed, it totally crashed - won't turn on - I would like to be able to retrieve some of my files if possible - I've read that people have had difficulty with taking cpus in and them just being wiped...

Any advice or help would be GREATLY appreciated!! I'm lost without my laptop!

Letter From Korea, August 2012

Suwon
August 24, 2012

Dear Ireland

I’ve been kicking myself a little lately because even with so much free time on my hands, I don’t seem to be getting the same amount of work done that I would like to be getting done. In a recent post I ranted about having too many distractions and found it difficult to scratch things off my list. Things have gotten a little better – I think – and maybe it was the rant that allowed me to get much off my chest. Still productivity, or lack of, bothers me still.

My Life in 10 Objects

I do this kind of regularly…not as regularly as I like to talk about myself, which I’m going to do a lot about in this post.

I see a blog post that someone else has written and then change the contents and talk about myself. I think you call it a meme. The more I read blogs, what with the whole blogging that I do myself, the more I’m inclined to copy other people’s posts and give my own take on a particular topic. There were a few about Korea and particular articles that were poorly drafted and spoke poorly of the land of the morning calm (heaven forbid). The thing is, I’ve no idea how I managed to ever get into this because I hardly read any blogs about Korea, at least not intentionally (a few links pop up on twitter and give them an ould click and my five minutes, but only every so often, and I won’t go into why I don’t do this now)

The Nate Hacking Scandal Hasn’t Gone Away…

Remember during the summer there was the uproar after Nate was hacked and the personal details of millions ok Korean were stolen?

Well, recently Nate were fined millions, or I should say billions of won for this serious discrepancy. Proper order.

Anyway, if you’re thinking that this was the end of it, think again.

Allow me to add an anecdote to this situation which may be based on coincidence but contains so much coincidence that it is likely to be a result of an account being hacked.

I love gadgets!
