Son of a Beach it’s Hot!!!

When choosing our second city of residence in South Korea, geography an climate played an exceptionally large role. Having come off a stay at our coldest location in Denver which at times seemed to be stuck in perpetual winter status, we opted for a happy medium between the mile high city and our Florida roots that landed us in Busan.

Jason Mraz: showing me up with his Korean skills

Jason Mraz was in Korea for about a week and he knows way more Korean than me. Watching him make small talk with the Korean audience between songs at last month’s Rainbow Island Festival on Nami Island (Namiseom) was just the motivation I needed to kick my butt into gear and learn Korean.

My Summer Addiction

Summer time in Korea means humidity, crowds of people at the beach (mostly cowering under their umbrellas), and iced coffees at ever convenience store.

It started raining today. They say it’s the beginning of the monsoon season. All I know is it hasn’t rained properly for over a month. They say it’s the driest summer ever. It’s only June. They say a lot of things.

I just finished making myself a mug of strong black coffee, turned a Tom Waits CD, brought in a reading lamp to the living room and have set myself up for a Saturday of writing in this rain dulled apartment of mine. When I finish that I’ll probably read.

Get Your "Dairy" Aire in Shape For Summer!

The weather is crazy here in Korea. I'm still waiting to hit the beach in my new HIGH WAISTED bikini! But those of you in the rest of the Northern hemisphere are well in to summer.

in the height of tourist season!!

Summer Food That Hits The Spot!

It's getting HOT out.  If you can't stand the heat... turn off the stove and oven and add some crisp, fresh, raw foods in your life. I'm not talking about a raw recipe with 500 ingredients that needs dehydrated for 20 hours. I'm talking about SALAD.

Are you bored now?

Salad used to bore me. Iceberg Lettuce, ranch dressing, processed cheese and stale croutons.  Blah- never appealed to me.
I could never imagine being satisfied for a whole meal with the "salad" I just described above.
But...

An Irish Summer

During the summer I took a lot of photographs, especially when we went out to the coast. The fact that it really was a beautiful summer in Ireland this year made taking pictures all the more enjoyable.
These pictures are probably the pic of the bunch. Organised in chronological order they show the beautiful Derrynane Bay in Kerry where I spent many’s a summer with my family, Brittas Bay where I also spent many summers in my grandmother’s mobile home, and also around my grandfathers house just outside of Waterville in Kerr also.

The scenery in Kerry is some of the finest in Ireland, and some would argue, the most spectacular in the world.
