White Bean and Basil Hummus

It’s a nice change from regular hummus and has a particularly thick and creamy texture, not as nutty as chickpea hummus but equally as good.

Serves: 1 1/2 cup Total Time: 5 minutes


  • 1 can cannelini or northern white beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 cup fresh basil
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil


This one is super easy.

You’re going to love this one. A filling, nutritious and delicious low-fat muffin. There’s no added sugar, oil or soy and all flavors are natural. Impressed yet?

It’s a full-meal muffin which I’ve been eating most days as a quick breakfast. Each muffin is filled with banana, carrot, iron and calcium-rich-blackstrap molasses, and omega-3 rich walnuts.

Berry Filling

4 cups fresh / frozen blueberries or strawberries

¾ cups raw sugar

1 tbsp. lemon juice

½ cup water

½ tsp. each cinnamon and nutmeg (optional)


Simple Biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour

4 tsps. baking powder

½  tsp. salt

3 tbsp. dairy-free butter

3/4-1 cup soy milk

Preheat oven to 200ºC

Today, I'm going to share my recipe that I proudly call "Passover Pizza".

I have been baking unleavened bread a few months now, anytime I've been wanting a little bread in my life. I came across the recipe because I didn't want to bother with yeast for 2 reasons:

8 tsp vegg yolks blended according to directions on packet

1 cup soy milk

1/2 teaspoon salt & pepper

6-7 slices of sour dough

Going Bananas over Bananas

My parents-in-law like to buy A LOT of bananas, although no one in the house likes to eat them. It drives me crazy!

Last week, they brought home bunches of bananas enough to feed a barrel of hungry monkeys. I don’t like wasting food, but how could my husband and I eat all those bananas before they turn rotten?

It's getting HOT out.  If you can't stand the heat... turn off the stove and oven and add some crisp, fresh, raw foods in your life. I'm not talking about a raw recipe with 500 ingredients that needs dehydrated for 20 hours. I'm talking about SALAD.

Salad used to bore me. Iceberg Lettuce, ranch dressing, processed cheese and stale croutons.  Blah- never appealed to me.
I could never imagine being satisfied for a whole meal with the "salad" I just described above.
