Weekly Photo Challenge – Merge

The first thing that came to mind when I read this weeks photo challenge was our lives. Adam and I eloped a little over 2 years ago at this spot in Koh Samui, Thailand.

We eloped at The Kala Samui. You can read more about that amazing day here.

To merge is to blur the individuality or individual identity and on that day we created a partnership built on love, unity and a commitment to happiness.

merge with confidence and heart,

Nicole

superpowers.

Ironically, while catching up on some less than happy news this morning online, I stumbled upon a clip from last years TED conference given by Ron Gutman on the hidden powers of smiling. I needed something more positive so I watched and was very interested in what smile studies have revealed about this hidden superpower we all possess. If you need a reason to tap into your powers today I think its worth a watch……

power smile ;)

August 18th, a life changer

August 18th is the 230th day of the year.

According to Wikipedia:

  • It was also the day helium was discovered.
  • Edward Norton, Patrick Swayze, Christian Slater, and G-Dragon were born.
  • Its National Science Day in Thailand.

According to Yahoo, it is also

  • Bad Poetry Day
  • Ice Cream Pie Day
  • Mail Order Catalogue Day
  • Self Serve Ice Cream Day (why so much ice cream?)

According to daily horoscopes, mine as a Gemini reads:

Ancient Cities: Chichen Itza

Of the three Mayan cities we were to visit over the next two weeks, Chichen Itza was the most desirable. For us the iconic temple was a figurehead for Mayan civilisation. Based in Mexico’s Yucatan province, the UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the more popular ancient ruins, with over a million people visiting the thousand-year old city every year.

However, despite our high-expectations, standing in-front of El Castillo at Chichen Itza had us surprisingly unfulfilled. A few feet away was part of an ancient major city, a famous landmark of the Mayan empire and an overrated tourist attraction.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Growth

While spending time in Phnom Penh, my wife and I learned a lot. Most importantly we learned that life is more than the house you live in, the money you have in your bank account and the fancy clothes you wear. The growth you gain internally by experiencing other things in life will change you forever. Phnom Penh was full of poverty, but everyone was smiling. Everyone there knew that life, family and happiness is worth more than anything you can ever buy.

The growth we experienced in this amazing city was inspiring and extremely life changing.

You can read more about our time there.

7:30 am and I’m in love

This internet has really gotten the best of me. As I down my 2nd cup of coffee, Adam is still asleep and Eunee is on my lap… I stumbled upon The Tiny House Blog.

For those of you who know us, may know that we have been talking more and more about having a baby sometime in the near future. Well, my nesting craziness must be in full gear (at least that is what I have heard it is called) I am cooking way more than normal, reorganizing the house on a daily basis(all 350 sq.ft)  in a much more intense way than normal and dreaming of where on earth I want to end up and in what kind of a home.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Purple

ImageReal men wear Purple… Purple Aprons… and take cooking classes!

My wife and I were on our 5 month backpacking trip through Asia and Europe when she wanted to sign up for Thai Cooking classes in Chiang Mai.

Not only did I make curry with a mortar and pestle, but I donned a purple apron.

I have to say, I’m a pretty decent cook and we may have bought the Thai Cookbook but  when offered the opportunity, I did not buy the apron.

Super Eunee

Happy Friday Everyone…

Just remember; we all have a super hero hidden somewhere within and possess the power to do good.

The Friday Night Flyer

Adam caught a most amazing shot of Eunee as she leaped into the protection of her bed after fetching her toy tire.

I think she is half mini Dumbo/ half bat
