The yellow lines on the ground are lined or have bumps to tell you where you are in the subway station. I think they’re for the blind. When I’m sleepy, I close my eyes and walk on the yellow part for a mini nap. What could possibly go wrong?
It was an amazing weekend! The 2010 Busan International Fireworks Festival ended on Saturday night. My friend from high school, Audrina, brought four of her girlfriends from Gumi and we went from Busan Station to Seomeyeon to Haeundae to Gwangalli. The crowds were insane, but it was totally worth it, because the fireworks were magnificent.
Had a lovely, lazy Sunday, and now I’m ready for Halloween Week at school!
Went to Home Plus to find a costume to wear for Halloween Day at school. It cost me 2,000₩ for the hat and 3,000₩ for the broom. I just need a black outfit and some green face paint. Hope the kiddies “get” it and all my effort isn’t wasted on them. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and it makes me sad to hear how little the kids know about and celebrate Halloween. I will try to enlighten them and tell you what happens! ^^
In my search for new jjimjilbang I found a nice place conveniently located just outside of the Banwoldang subway stop (transfer) in downtown Daegu. The staff were helpful and spoke a bit of English, even put my extra baggage behind the counter for safekeeping since it wouldn't fit in the locker!
As you exit the subway at gate 1, you'll see the Samjung Greencore Apartments (삼정 그린코어) and a sign for the Greenvill Jjimjilbang entrance.
I love Shinsegae (supposedly the world’s biggest mall). If anyone ever wants to go there, I am game, because I still have not explored every crevice. And, oh yes, I have tried —and will continue to try!
I have only watched movies in Korea at the top floor of Shinsegae. I must say that it is amazing! The only tip I can tell is not to watch any animated or kids’ movies, because they’re usually dubbed in Korean. Unless you like that sort of thing.
A few months have passed since I declared my love for galbi. The love is there no longer. I have had too much galbi! It’s all my mom ever wants to eat. Though free dinner is great, I do not think I can eat another bite of barbecue steak. Ugh.
