Korean Cherry Blossoms of 2016

CNN Travel Love

cnn

Recently, CNN published an article written by the legendary Peter DeMarco. The article was delayed a bit due to the ferry accident however, it went live last week and it was a nice surprise. I have to really thank Peter for writing such a great article and getting us even more exposure for our work.

In the last Buddha’s birthday spot that I went to this year, I bring you Haedong Younggunsa! One of my favourite temples and a beauty of a temple to shoot at during this decorative time. The sad part is that you will be fighting for “the spot” with a few hundred other photographers.

Playing with Patterns

When ever I look at a landscape often a pattern will pop up or a break in the pattern that I see before me. Recently, I started playing around with a lot of the cityscapes that I have been taking and then testing out this quest for patterns elsewhere in my photographic travels.

Just Get Out and Shoot!

IMG_8158_HDR

These days I have less and less time to shoot. I have so many things on the go that I pretty much don’t have time unless I shoot inside of classrooms or from the driver’s seat of my car. However, I have started taking my camera everywhere with me just in case something pops up and I can pull over and shoot. This is a different strategy than the weekends of shooting that I normally did. At any rate, last night was one of those “Screw it! I gotta get some shots” nights.

2013 Ulsan International Photography Festival

With great pleasure I announce that my photos will be a part of this years Ulsan International Photography Festival. This is an event that I have paid money to just look at the amazing photos and now my photos will be there! As you can tell, I am quite excited about this.

The Shinhwa Photo Walk Review

group

So yesterday turned out to be a little more gloomy than what I was hoping for. It still didn’t stop people from coming out to get some great shots of the area. The interesting part was that we were not the only group out taking some shots. There were a number of Korean photographers about taking different shots of the village and even using some pretty darn expensive gear and a few models as well.

Google+ Communities

Recently Google+ which is already a haven for photo-buffs came out with an answer for the ever so popular “Facebook Group” Now, if you have ever dipped into the wealth of social activities that is Google+, you will know that it is sort of a hit and a miss.

What I mean by that is while there are thousands of people on Google+, but most of my “friends” are still on Facebook and communicate through that directly. However, most of my professional contacts and photographer friends use Google+. Some have said that it is “over-saturated with photographers” but if you are a fan of my photographer then you will know that this is right up my alley.

Ulsan Future of Photography Forum

I have the great opportunity to speak tomorrow night at a Photography forum in Ulsan. At the moment as I am preparing my speech, I am a little overwhelmed. This is one of those events that I was casually asked to do and then when I head to the meeting just days before the event, they drop a bomb like “Oh you will be speaking for an hour because you are the only speaker… how good is your Korean???”

Night Shots of Onsan

With the December meet up of the Photographers in Ulsan Photography Club, I thought that I would make this post about how to get the shots from that location, so that people can get some practice and make the best out of their time.
