Outdoor Tourism in Korea : Featuring Photography of Seoraksan (Seorak Mountain)

Seoraksan Post-7

Tourism in Korea will explode because of one untapped resource – nature.

When foreigners (non-Americans) think of New York, they think of uncompromising skyscrapers, broad avenues, plush shopping and a city that never sleeps.  They, like most Americans, forget that New York is a massive state that offers much more than a singular city.  New York is a state of nature, mountains, and a beautiful drive on the Mohawk Towpath.

Sport fishing in Busan

I wonder if anyone knows about sport fishing in Busan, or korea generally.  I have read that you do not need a licence.  i would like to know if anyone has information about recreational sport fishing in Korea...  popular local species, good places to go... etc.

Taking a Winter Dip at the Deokpo Penguin Swim Festival

On January 7th, I took part in the 8th Annual Geoje Penguin Swim Festival. This festival was just so much fun, and definitely one of my favourite experiences in Korea thus far!

Dear Korea #041

Dear Korea #041

For anyone who isn’t familiar with the term used in this comic, it’s from a very well known quote that goes a little something like this: “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”

It basically means that when you’re in an unfamiliar setting, act like those around you. I’m not entirely sure if there’s a saying in Korean that’s similar to that.

Argh, sooo not happy with how this one came out. A not-so-unknown fact about me is that I am really bad at drawing males with little to no hair. I guess exposed scalps and I just don’t get along. Either way, the dude in the picture is a good friend of mine, and it’s his birthday! Yay!

Getting Settled In...

Long time no blog.  Been crazy busy with work and settling in to the new digs.  So here's a quick stroll through our new neighborhood in Lakeland, Tennessee.

The house is great and the neighbors are awesome.

Fly Fishing in Busan

Attention anyone interested in fly fishing:

I'm looking for people to form a Busan Fly Fisher's Club.  I've met a couple other people with a passion for the sport, and I'm looking for more to share knowledge/stories, to go on trips, etc.  I've got a spare rod and would love to teach anyone who would like to learn as well.   I've established a few decent spots for fishing here and am constantly looking for more as well as other people interested in the sport.

Feel free to contact me via email or phone

Anyone know how to go about getting a fishing boat and a captain to go out for a night of fishing in Busan? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
