Sunset Day

In honour of the Weather Channel’s Sunset Day event on Google+ I thought that I would show a few of my recent sunset shots. In the recent months, there have been some spectacular sunsets. Part of my interest in this event is because of my geography background. My final course that I took was climatology and that helped give me an interest in weather and things like this.

The 2012 Worldwide Photo Walk in Ulsan

Well, it is Monday and the #WWPW is still trending on Google+ so you know it was a great event. In Ulsan, it was no different. The event went off without a hitch and I am happy to say that a lot of people showed up with photographers coming all the way from Eonyang and Busan.

The photo walk was great for me as I got a chance to explain a few things about photography to new photographers and meet a lot of new people. There is also something great about showing people the effects that you can do with depth of field and a 50mm F1.4 can do.

iMo Camera Straps

The camera strap is one of those things that comes in the box and most people don’t even think about. They just stick it on the camera and BOOM that’s that. However for those of us who have had the unfortunate displeasure of lugging around a 70-200mm lens stuck on a DSLR with a battery pack, you will soon realize that a comfortable strap in something of a necessity. For others, the standard Nikon or Canon straps are too “boring” and they want to express themselves a little bit more or just make their black box stand out from the rest.

How to Win Photo Contests in Korea

After reading a post about how to win photo contests, I decided to throw in my twenty won on how to do it in Korea. So this post won’t actually help you win anything but I thought that I would do a sort of write up about entering contests. I apologize if the title is a bit misleading. Basically, after judging the Korea Bridge Photo Contest I decided to write out my thoughts.

National Geographic Photo Contest 2011

It is that time of year again! Once again National Geographic is holding their photo contest and is looking for the best of the best in order to give away $10,000 and a trip to the National Geographic Headquarters in Washington D.C.  to check out their photo seminar in January 2012.  Do you have what it takes?

Now this contest is not for the faint of heart as it costs $15 USD to enter. Many will pass this one by as I know that is a steep price for a contest that got over 16,000 entries last year. However, take a look at what the editor’s think are worthy and if you have something that is close then chuck one in. You just never know…
