Korean Make Up Trash, Treat or Stash: Daiso's "Candy Pops" nail wraps

Trash, Treat or Stash. The products I've discovered are better off in the bin, the ones you should treat yourself to every now and again, and the ones that are so good that you should definitely make sure you have a stash of them. This week Natasha's guest blogging about one of her findings.

The Colors of Korea Project

Street Art

Korea is such a vibrant country. Everywhere you turn there is a feast of colours. It doesn't matter whether you're in the middle of the city, lost in the country or shopping in your local Mart. Everything's bright, and I'm not just talking about the neon lights. The food covers every spectrum of the rainbow, I love the streets smothered in wall art with small buildings each painted a different colour. All below a lovely blue sky.

I'm always taking hundreds of pictures that I just end up deleting, or saving on my computer, so I was really excited when I was approached by Mimsie from the blog Seoul Searching to join her on a project she was doing.

Feel the love Korean Wedding

I'm currently awol from this blog, but hopefully I'll be back in full force next week...

Watching Dexter. And I have to admit that I'm a little bit obsessed. I managed to watch a whole season in little under a week and am well on my way through the second season. I just can't. stop. watching it! I really can't warm to his sister's character, but love Doakes. As always, I'm about a century behind everyone, but does anyone else love this TV show?

Obsessing over work. It's so incredibly busy at the moment. The kids have tests next week which I have had to write, so rather than have time to blog, it's been writing tests. I can't wait until it's over!

Jenny finally got her package over the weekend, so I can finally let everyone else have a nosey at what I decided to send to her. I think most these things along would make great little presents to send home as gifts. I'm particularly obsessed with Artbox's animal shaped toothbrushes!

Letter from Korea, April 2013

Suwon, South Korea
April, 2013

Dear Ireland,

I’m not sure if I should gloat but I thought I’d mention the fact that spring is in full swing here. I should also point out that that was an unintentional rhyme  but I digress. Yes, April is warming the bones and joints enough for me not to dread the walk to work, and I am optimistically eyeing the month of May on the calendar in the kitchen. The shorts and t-shirts shall be dusted down soon.

We love spring here in Korea. It’s full of things to be happy about, such as the end of winter, but also the cacophony of blossoms which explode bit by bit throughout April. Right now we’ve bright yellow kenari decorating the sides of the roads, and slowly the purple azaelas and bulbous magnolias are breaking free. Of course the nation awaits the arrival of the cherry blossoms and the plethora of festivals that accompany them.

White Day

It's good being a girl in Korea when White Day rolls around. White Day happens on March the 14th, exactly a month after Valentine's day, which is no coincidence. Apparently Valentine's day is solely for women to give the men in their life a gift of chocolate. A month later, the men are expected to return the favor, three fold.

It's also tradition in Korean schools for the students to share presents with their friends. As Elementary school teachers, we were incredibly lucky and got showered by gifts from the children. Mostly they gave lollipops or small bits of chocolate, but other students had prepared goody bags filled with a mixture of things.
