Home to If I Had A Minute To Spare Towers

I kid because I love. But in this case I’m not kidding. I do live in a tower, a twenty storey high tower pitched between what seems like a thousand other twenty storey high towers. Although mine is made from concrete, steel, and glass, not ivory. This may or may not be a good thing.

After a long summer away in Ireland, myself, Herself, and +1 have returned to our perch overlooking the ever present traffic which persists along that big long avenue that runs through Yeongtong-dong which I have no idea of the name.

My Apartment in Busan, South Korea

I made the video below when I first came to South Korea, but I never put it here on my blog.

5 Awesomely Awesome Things

I know I said big things are coming, and they are, they're just a little slower than I had hoped.

In the mean time, I am going to introduce a something new that is a bit smaller than the big things coming down the line.

To make Mondays a bit happier I am introducing a new weekly series of Awesome Things.  Everyone loves awesome things, so I decided to share some things in the world that  I find particularly awesome.

This week is inspired by Japan, the Olympics, and other cool stuff.

Places on a Map

For my Birthday, amongst a myriad of other awesome things, (including a beautiful, handmade necklace and a punk rock chick scrub brush) my friend Heather gave me some scraps of fabric.  They're really cool patterns, and I put two of the three of them to good use.

I've seen some of these handmade cloth state or country outlines both for sale, and as craft projects online and so I decided to channel my inner Martha and get crafty.  It was really quite easy and I think it turned out great.

Highrise Farming

Up here on the twentieth floor, myself and Herself are quite fond of the daily dose of sunlight we are lucky enough to be provided with, not to mention the all too frequent magnificent sunsets, a few of I’ve catalogued for your viewing pleasure:

I Live in Yeongtong-dong

I live in Yeongtong-dong in a normal suburban existence. There is nothing that stands out from where I live and how I live from all the other millions of other semi-bored suburbanites who populate the planet. My suburb is different but there is nothing that stands out. I like it this way.

If you are reading this from another country many things will amaze you, as Korea can be a visually amazing place. In Yeongtong-dong there are a lot of visually amazing sights, but as I have lived here for some time they have lost their wonder and they are only what surround me on a daily basis. They are normal. I like it this way.

Tea for the Day

Oh living in a foreign country where you don't understand the language fully.
Yesterday I had two of my awesome Korean friends over to come see my new apartment, and to spend some time together.  Since I still don't have much to eat or drink stocked up in my kitchen I ran down to the convenience store for some snacks and some tea.  They didn't have any black tea, just green and barley, but I prefer black so I was looking for something comparable.

A Love Letter to Daiso

Dear Daiso,
We've known each other on and off for a few years now.  I stumbled upon you early on in my time in Korea, and since have found myself seeking you out more and more.  When I returned, one of my first inquiries was the distance between us. You were one of my first stops back in Korea and one of the last places I seek out when I make my return trips home.

Working on it

I have very limited internet right now so I haven't been able to post as much as I want, but as soon as that's fixed there will be tons to talk about.  I have a new apartment and a new school so things are changing daily and I will keep you updated just as soon as I can get a normal internet connection.

From Busan with Love,
Jenna
