Usually Not My Style…

Who Wins: ‘Mr. Bean’ or ‘100 Angry Grandmothers’?

Hello, fellow ESL teachers. Do you have 10 minutes to kill in a class? Have you already shown your students every (currently available on YouTube) episode of the animated Mr. Bean series? Are your kids bored to death of Hangman or–in the case of South Korea–“Nunchi Game,” where they each stand up in the order of words or numbers on the board and the last one to stand is out? Do you have a class that is relatively advanced in English and can offer some creative discourse? Or, do you have a class that barely offers input at all?

Eat, Play, Dance! The most delicious performance in Korea! ‘Bibap’

Bibap is a Korean nonverbal performance with the concept of Korean representative dish ‘Bibimbap.’ The show describes the cooking competition of chefs through the combination of music with b-boying, acrobatic, and martial arts. Started in 2008 as a 30 minute show, Bibap has actively participated in international and domestic food fairs, biennales, and even 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Our Trazy user, Jihyeon L, visited the Bibap show. She said it was great fun. Shall we listen to her story of how much she enjoyed it?

Fall into the world of Dakpaper dolls in Bukchon Hanok Village!!

Dakpaper is Korean traditional paper made from Korean Mulberry trees named Dak-namu (namu means tree.) Since the texture of the dakpaper is soft yet strong, people have used the paper to make handicrafts. One of them is dakpaper doll. Dakpaper dolls usually give a warm feeling due to its texture. Jaebin H went to Cho Kyung-Wha workshop and made a pretty doll out of dakpaper. Let’s hear how much she enjoyed this activity!

How to enjoy the Coolest Water Sports in the middle of Seoul: let’s flyboard on Han River!

Summer in Korea is humid and hot. One of the best ways to fight against the hot hot summer is definitely WATER SPORTS!

One of Trazy’s customers, Yoonhee C, went on a one fine day in June to explore what exactly flyboarding is.

I visited Jamwon Hangang Park to ride flyboard. The staffs are very kind and you can the instructions on how to prepare the ride in many languages (English, Chinese, Japanese). The staffs are fluent in English so foreigners don’t have to worry about the language problem.
