Getting Root Access to a Galaxy S

I've been trying to setup my Galaxy S as a mobile hotspot, but have yet to succeed. I've looked through a number of forum threads on the topic, have none of them worked for me. Has anyone out there been able to root their phone. If so, what app did you use and how did you do it?

Can you use a North America Iphone in Korea?

I have asked around and what I would like to do is use my Iphone 4 in Korea. Is this possible? I have gotten so many conflicting answers from people. I would like someone who has done this or know this is possible to confirm.

olleh Internet problems?

Does anyone here have problems with accessing the Internet (and certain sites) with olleh? I keep being asked for repeated logins and I have found it will not allow me to access some sites.

Celebrating twenty years in Korea

I need a cell phone for 7 months

I just arrived for a 4-month student exchange, but will be staying in Korea for 7 months total. Tonight I went with some Korean friends to a cell phone shop and was told that because I am an exchange student (on a D2 visa), I can't get a cell phone even when I do get my alien registration card.

I am wondering if there is somewhere I can buy a used phone (I only need something simple) and then do pay-as-you-go?

Hey, i've got a Samsung n310 netbook which has recently acquired a broken (dropped, cracked) screen. Does anyone have any idea how much it'd cost to have it repaired? Or does anyone know of a specific repair shop they'd recommend?

Cell Phone Questions

Hi everyone.

So I'm planning on buying a smartphone from SK wireless. My budget is around 500,000W. I have an E-2 visa, so I can't pay the smartphone off every month. I have to buy the phone all at once.

My questions: What is the best phone I can get right now at a 500,000W budget? How would it compare to a Galaxy S 2 at 845,000W?

I have looked at olleh and LG, but LG wants a 200,000W deposit, and olleh does not give E-2 foreigners cell phones.

Cannot get my Galaxy U to play nice with my apple computer.

I have a Galaxy U smartphone from lg wireless, and I want to put music onto it, but my macbook does not recognize it when I plug it in with the USB cable. Is there anything I can do about this?
