Remembrance Sunday Novemeber 11, 2012

Can anyone confirm that the Remembrance Day service at the U.N Cemetery will be happening this year?

It's happened every year, but one, on November 11th, for the last 8 years. But, since November 11th is actually on a Sunday this year I was worried that things might change.

It's normally held by the Canadian Korean Veterans organization, but am unable to find a webpage for them anywhere.

Racism Law

Hi,

I love Korea, but one thing troubles me greatly. I have been led to believe there is no law against racism here. Is this true? This was told to me by someone high up in a Foreign Workers help group, linked with YMCA here. Please correct me if this is wrong, misinformed. If true, I'd like to submit a formal pettition for a law, either to Lee Myung Bak, or the new President via this site, if possible.

Local night life recommendations

Visiting Busan with a few friends for a weekend, looking for some fun and interesting things to do in the evening. Unfortunately googling in English produces limited results which all tend to be western style bars

Would anyone be able to recommend something a little more traditional...we have all heard great things about Soju and KTV in Seould but can't seem to find any in Busan?

Literally anything fun for a group of mid twenties westeners on a fri/sat night would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Music festival and new places in PNU

Hey all,

Just wanted to point out there is a music festival in PNU this weekend... all day. Events are outside PNU main gate, by Oncheon river and on market street. Indoor events are at cafe Haecitty, Soul Trane/Crossroads and Basment. There are other venues which I can't remember right now but you'll find them!

With new bars such as Thirsty Moose with its roof beer garden and turkish food, Paco Taco with it's Mexican theme (Tequila and Burritoes) and Someday showing the olympics on the big screen. Is there a better time to check out this neighborhood?
